No Longer Invisible:

Social Cohesion and Ageing | Newcastle, Wallsend, Redhead | Seniors | Social Isolation and Ageism | Co-design | Participatory | Intergenerational

Community Need: Older people across Newcastle, Wallsend, Raymond Terrace, and Redhead were experiencing social isolation, ageism, and reduced visibility in community life, intensified by COVID-19 disruption to social networks and participation. This contributed to loneliness, declining mental health, and feelings of worthlessness, alongside a strong but unmet desire to remain active contributors to society. Barriers were further compounded for Aboriginal and culturally diverse older people, whose voices were underrepresented. The project responded to local and state priorities for active ageing, social participation, and inclusion by strengthening connection, recognition, and belonging.

We bring creativity and expertise to everything we do.

Here, creativity meets opportunity.
